Seeking Purpose and Happiness
Seeking purpose is the key to unlocking happiness. But what does it mean to seek purpose? It begins with understanding your passions. What drives you? What makes you come alive?
Understanding Your Passions
Your passions are the clues to discovering your purpose. Are you passionate about writing, helping others, or saving animals? When you align your passions with your actions, you’ll find a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.
However, it’s essential to distinguish between God-given passions and the expectations of others or the passions of the flesh. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Seeking God’s Plans
No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, it’s never too late to seek purpose. You’re never too far away from God’s love and redemption. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Each day on earth is a precious gift from God, an opportunity to prepare for the transition to the next life. The more we prepare, the easier that transition will be.
Living a Purpose-Driven Life
To find true happiness, it’s crucial to pursue your purpose. This means giving up some things and seeking the Holy Spirit’s guidance. As Jesus said in John 14:16, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforting Counselor like me, the Spirit of Truth, to be with you forever.”
The people you surround yourself with will also influence your journey. Proverbs 13:20 warns, “He who walks with wise will become wise, But the one who keeps company with fools will be destroyed.”
A Call to Action
Don’t let distractions from the world hinder your pursuit of purpose. Instead, focus on spreading God’s love in every way possible. Become Love! That is our purpose. Remember, ignoring purpose can lead to depression, anxiety, and stress. Pursuing one’s purpose is the only way to find true happiness.
