From Heartache to Happiness by finding Purpose!

Seek Purpose to find Peace and Happiness

Seeking purpose is the key to unlocking happiness. But what does it mean to seek purpose? It begins with understanding your passions. What drives you? What makes you come alive?

Your passions are the clues to discovering your purpose. Are you passionate about writing, helping others, or saving animals? When you align your passions with your actions, you’ll find a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

But there’s a crucial distinction to make: are you following your God-given passions or the expectations of others and the passions of the flesh?

Jer 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

It’s Never Too Late

No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, it’s never too late to seek purpose. You’re never too far away from God’s love and redemption. He will welcome you home with open arms. I promise you this! He is always near.

Psalm 34:18 “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Each Day is a Gift

Each day on earth is a precious gift from God, an opportunity to prepare for the transition to the next life. The more we prepare, the easier that transition will be, the less we prepare, the more difficult it will be. Do not be distracted by the things the world has to offer. Spread God’s love in everyway possible, wherever and however you can. Become Love! That is our purpose. Ignoring purpose can lead to depression, anxiety and stress. Pursuing one’s purpose, is the only way to find happiness.

“Take heed lest you get caught up in drunkenness, carousing, and the cares of this life.” Luke 21:34

You Need a Helper!

John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforting Counselor like me, the Spirit of Truth, to be with you forever.”

Jesus said He would send a Helper and a Comforter, But many of us try to do life on our own, without the help of the Holy Spirit. That’s why we struggle with stress, depression, and anxiety and the reason we fail. You will never find true happiness until you 1. give up some things, 2. seek and ask for the Holy Spirit. 3. Pursue your purpose.

Surround yourself with wisdom

The people you surround yourself with, will be the ones who have the greatest influence on who you become. Choose wisely! If you want to truly be free, you must not let yourself become a prisoner to what others think about you. If you cut off everyone who is willing and brave enough to tell you the truth, you can’t complain when you’re surrounded by liars.

Proverbs 13:20 “He who walks with wise will become wise, But the one who keeps company with fools will be destroyed.”

Don’t be Lukewarm

The greatest tragedy I have ever witnessed is churchgoers who believe themselves to be good people while being caught up in the cares of this life and they have zero impact on advancing the Kingdom of Heaven. Our lives are either advancing the Kingdom of Heaven or they are advancing the kingdom of darkness. There is no middle ground.

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Rev 3:16

I’ve heard it said, “The devil’s greatest trick is convincing the world that he doesn’t exist.” His second greatest is convincing those who are lukewarm that they are good people.

Why happiness eludes us?

Happiness eludes us because we look for it in the wrong places. We look outward instead of inward, or we look to the future instead of the present. But the Kingdom of Heaven is within us, here and now

Luke 17:21 ” … For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Stop Running from God

God is Love. He is the source of Love. He is True Unconditional Love and He wants only the best for you. There is no True Lasting Happiness apart from God. Running from Him only creates pain, suffering, depression and anxiety in our own lives. But when we surrender to Him, our healing begins, and happiness without end follows!

1 John 4:8: “God is love”

Be filled with the Spirit.

We all need something to help us cope sometimes, to find relief from Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Guilt, or Shame. The answer is not in drugs or alcohol as they are only temporary and only exacerbates these woes. The answer is in being filled with the Holy Spirit. Too many Christians have forgotten this or never been taught how, and they are living with heartache

Gal 5:22  “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control”

Eph 5:18 “Do not be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.” We cannot have both, it is either or.
