Hunger Pains of the Soul

Anxiety, depression, despair, and emptiness are not who you are — they are symptoms, signals, cries from within. They are the hunger pains of the soul. And though the pain is real, it is also a sign of life: proof that your soul is still alive, still reaching, still crying out to be filled. So let me ask you gently — what is your soul hungry for?

There isn’t a single “right” answer. The way your soul names its hunger will be as unique as your own journey. What matters is that you listen honestly. In the end, all our longings, no matter how we describe them, point us toward the same Source.

The soul’s hunger does not have just one answer. For some, it will be named as God. For others, as love. Still others will recognize it as the Holy Spirit, the Kingdom of Heaven, or even their own true identity — or perhaps something else. None of these are wrong. In fact, each is right. All are facets of the same jewel.

The soul is hungry for wholeness, for truth, for life — and all of these are found in Christ.

You are created in God’s image, a vessel designed not only to be filled with His love but also to overflow, pouring that love out upon others. You are loved beyond measure! That hunger, that emptiness you feel is a longing to be filled with His love. You only need to ask.

And remember — the battle for your soul is being fought in your mind. Start saying NO to every negative thought. Refuse to agree with them. Instead, set your mind to dwell on what is true and good: those who love you, those you love, the blessings you’ve been given, and the truth of who you really are — a child of the Most High God, capable of both giving and receiving love.
